Privacy policy

Naija Social Club is a small, vetted social community in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area, rooted in Nigerian culture and open to everyone who loves the vibe. We collect as little personal data as we can, and we never sell it.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, used only to sign you in.
• Profile (visible to approved members): name, area, profession, marital status, your profile photos (up to 6) and whether you are Verified.
• Verification selfie (visible only to organizers): a live selfie used once to confirm you are the person in your photos.
• Application (visible only to you and the organizer): WhatsApp number, what you love about Nigerian culture (optional), who referred you, LinkedIn link and why you want to join, plus your confirmation that you agreed to the rules, an interview and are 18 or older.
• Activity: plans you join or host, chat messages you send, and reports and blocks you make.

What we never collect

We do not ask for or store your nationality or ethnicity, ID numbers, Social Security numbers, bank or card details, or other financial information. We do not track your location.

How we use it

• To review your application and contact you for a short interview.
• To show members who is going to each plan.
• To run the community chat and keep it safe.

Who can see what

Access is enforced in our database, not just in the app. Applicants can only see their own profile. Approved members can see other approved members’ names, areas, professions, marital status and Verified tag, plus plans, RSVPs and chat. Only the organizer can see application details such as your WhatsApp number.

Photos and your verification selfie

• Profile photos are stored privately. They are never public: only signed-in, approved members and organizers can see them, through links that expire after an hour. While you are an applicant, only organizers can see them.
• Photos are resized on your device before upload, which also removes hidden data such as the location where they were taken.
• Your verification selfie is seen only by organizers and is deleted after review. We keep only whether you are Verified.
• Photos are checked by people today. If we add automatic face matching in the future, we will update this policy first.

Service providers

We use Supabase (database, photo storage, sign-in and realtime chat) and Vercel (website hosting). They process data on our behalf to run the service.

Your choices

• Edit your profile any time from the Me tab.
• Block any member so you no longer see their messages.
• Delete your account from the Me tab (or the status screen). This permanently erases your profile, application, RSVPs and messages.

Age

Naija Social Club is only for adults aged 18 and over.
